I enjoyed reading James Patterson’s Alex Cross series
Plot
Series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the titular character Alex Cross in 2012, which flopped at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap the previously planned sequel, Double Cross.
Aldis Hodge is the perfect Alex Cross
As a fan of the character, when I heard the books were being turned into a series, I was worried that everything I loved about the books and characters would be ruined as is often the case with most movie/TV adaptations. I can say that my concerns were unfounded.
This duality is crucial to portraying Cross authentically
Hodge possesses a commanding physical presence that is essential to the character, who is often portrayed as a brilliant thinker and a man who can hold his own in physical confrontations. His performance reflects a deep knowledge of James Patterson’s novels.
His performance will likely appeal to both longtime fans of the character and newcomers alike
He captures the essence of Cross’ character as a brilliant detective driven by a strong sense of justice. Overall, Hodge’s portrayal of Alex Cross combines talented acting with a strong emotional core, making him a remarkable choice for the role in the series.
Cross captures the essence of James Patterson’s novels with a gripping narrative, depth of character, and a suspenseful plot that will appeal to both longtime fans and new viewers
